3. Quotations & Pricing

3.1 Transparent Pricing

We are committed to fair, clear, and transparent pricing with no hidden fees or unexpected charges.  Our Transparent Pricing Promise:

- Clear pricing or estimates provided before work begins

- No hidden charges for agreed work

- Honest advice on cost-effective solutions

- Customer approval obtained before any additional chargeable work

Prices may be provided as:

- Fixed quotes (for clearly defined work)

- Estimated quotes (where the full scope cannot be confirmed until inspection)

- Hourly or day rates (where appropriate)

All pricing is based on the information available at the time of enquiry and site assessment. If unforeseen issues arise (such as hidden leaks, access limitations, or faults within existing systems), we will explain the situation clearly and agree any changes in cost with you before proceeding. This approach ensures homeowners and families across Hertfordshire can make informed decisions with confidence and peace of mind.

3.2 Validity of Quotes

Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. After this period, we reserve the right to revise pricing.

3.3 Changes to Scope of Work

If additional work is required due to unforeseen issues (e.g. hidden leaks, access problems, or faulty existing systems), we will:

- Inform you before proceeding

- Provide an updated cost where possible

- Seek approval before carrying out additional chargeable work

4. Deposits and Payments

4.1 Payment Terms

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

- Payment is due upon completion of the work

- For larger jobs, a deposit may be required before work begins

- Invoices must be paid within 7 days of issue

- We accept payment via bank transfer, card payment, or other agreed methods.

4.2 Late or Delayed Payments

If payment is not received by the due date:

- We reserve the right to charge statutory interest on overdue invoices in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 (where applicable)

- A reasonable administration fee may be applied to cover recovery costs

- Further work or future bookings may be suspended until outstanding balances are cleared

We will always attempt to resolve payment issues amicably before taking further action.

5. Cancellations and Appointments

5.1 Customer Cancellations

We respectfully request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.  Late cancellations may result in a call-out or time reservation fee.

5.2 Missed Appointments

If we attend a booked appointment and are unable to access the property or the customer is unavailable, a call-out charge may apply.

5.3 Our Right to Reschedule

In rare cases (e.g. emergencies, illness, or delays on previous jobs), we may need to reschedule appointments. We will provide as much notice as possible.

6. Access and Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

- Provide safe and reasonable access to the property

- Ensure water, electricity, and relevant utilities are accessible where required

Where materials or parts are supplied:

- These will be suitable for the intended work

- Manufacturer warranties may apply where relevant

- We are not responsible for delays caused by supplier shortages or discontinued parts

Ownership of supplied materials remains with Davies Plumbing Services until full payment is received.

8. Warranty and Workmanship

We take pride in reliable, high-quality workmanship.

Where applicable:

- Labour is guaranteed for 12 months from the completion date

This guarantee does not cover:

- Misuse or neglect

- Pre-existing faults

- Normal wear and tear

Any concerns must be reported within a reasonable timeframe.

9. Emergency Call-Outs
